POLYESTER PATCH
FEATURES:
DIRECTIONS:
This polyester patch is a fast setting three component Resin/Catalyst system. Use this high strength repair system to resurface, repair, grout, skid proof, coat or seal any surface, masonry, wood or steel. This polyester kit will set to industrial strength cure at temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees F. At normal temperatures, repair areas may be open to traffic in 30 minutes.
. Surface Preparation - Surfaces must be free of all loose din, dust, grease and foreign matter, which will prevent good bonding. Metal surfaces should be sand blasted or wire brushed. For damaged areas that cannot be properly cleaned of dirt, must or foreign matter drive in concrete nails on approximately two inch centers, just slightly below finished grad. Make sure there are nails along the edges then pour mortar mix and trowel. Repair forms should be lined with wax paper for easy release.
DIRECTIONS:
Open the can of resin and pour the Full glass of thermohardener into the can. (Never put hardener directly into catalyst.)
. Stir material thoroughly until it takes on a uniform color. The resin is now activated.
. Pour into plastic pail as much "activated" material as required for job.
. Add white jar of catalyst to pail in corresponding proportion. For example, if using ½ can of polyester use ½ jar catalyst.
. Mix thoroughly for 112 minute. Material is now "Working" and is ready to be applied. All of it mist be applies in 10 to 12 minutes. For longer life useless catalyst.
. Store balance of Activated" Resin in cool dark room/ This will have a shelf life of three to four months.
. Repair Grout/Anchor - Add ½ gallon of sand and/or aggregate to the working resin in the pail Blend thoroughly. If you desire a stiffer mix, add additional amounts of sand and/or aggregate up to 4 gallons.
. Pour or trowel mixture into cavity to be repaired, making sure edges are fully covered. Trowel edges to a feather finish.
. To Resurface/Skid Proof - Pour the working resin onto the surface to be repaired. Spread over entire area with a squeegee. Dust area with a uniform grade of sand (For resurfacing, dust heavily.) After material has become a jell (about 10 to 15 minutes) do not disturb, cut or attempt to trowel material. Surface will be level, skid proof, non-porous, waterproof and easy to clean.
. Special Notes - If insufficient material has been prepared for the job, simply prepare additional material and apply over the completed areas.
. Never Pour as liquid thicker than ¼ inch without dusting heavily.
. To remove excess material from plastic pail, allow to harden and then flex pail. Solid material will "pop" out.
. Lower temperatures require long cure time
. Never pour hardener directly into catalyst.
