FAVES
Seems like on the Alarm Digest

there's always some sort of weird poll going on about your favorite
something or another. So, here's some of my faves, subject to change
daily, hourly or by the second....

ALARM ALBUM
Well, for sentimental reasons,
I have to go with Declaration. Okay, so it sounds so naive
what with all this shouting for peace, love, and understanding, but
this was the music that got me through my teenage years, when I, too,
thought I could change the world. Also "We Are The Light"
was the first song I ever sang in front of people solo with just me
and a guitar. Actually, I think it's the only time I've ever
sang and played guitar in front of people.

ALARM SONG(s)
This is a really tough one!
Well, if you check out the Cincinnati concert review,
you'll see why I have a special place in my heart for "Only The
Thunder" (which I actually never really cared for the song that
much the first few years I listened to it). But it's funny how your
perceptions change as you get older.
"Spirit of '76"
is the ultimate "lifelong friends" song, and it's because
of this special music that I have some of my lifelong friends. It was
also dedicated to Kellie, Tracy and me in Columbus.
"Moments In Time"
brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. Growing up and moving
on is a hard thing to do. Laughter, tears, joy and sorrow. Also dedicate
to Kellie, Tracy, Angie and me in Cleveland.
So many songs and so many
emotions.....

ALARM GIG
Well, I didn't get to see
that many, so this is kinda hard. So I'm going to go with the very first
one I saw, Kent State, April 1988, Eye of the Hurricane tour. It was
the first time Tracy, Kellie and I saw The Alarm, the first time we
met Mike. Lots of fun!
Indianapolis was special,
but not for the right reasons! I just really remember that night since
Kellie and I weren't old enough to get in but Mike managed to get us
in anyway.

MIKE PETERS ALBUM
When I first heard Rise,
I thought that it was absolute perfection. But right now, a
few weeks after seeing Mike's Interactive Acoustic shows, the album
I'm most impressed with at the moment is Breathe (Acoustic Sessions).
Maybe it's just because hearing
Mike with just the acoustic guitar moves me more than I've ever been
moved by music before. Maybe it's just because the songs kick ass. Maybe
I'll change my mind in a few minutes....

MIKE PETERS SONG
Right now I'd have to go
with "My Calling". I just love this song! And played as a
request by me in New York.

MIKE PETERS GIG
For a number of reasons,
Cincinnati at Bogart's, 10/22/98. This was special
to me, not only because of the request that I made. There seemed to
me to be a little bit of magic in the air, even though there were only
25-30 people in attendance. I didn't go to the show with anybody and
I wasn't planning to meet anyone there. Yet I connected with people
I'd never met before.
