FRIENDS AND FANS

Well, being the painfully shy person that I am (those of you who have actually met me may find that hard to believe!!), I've always had a hard time making friends. Of course, having a name like "Ecki" as you're growing up doesn't help! Anyway, thanks to music, I've been able to connect with a lot more people than I've ever thought possible. Kellie is my oldest friend. We actually met way back in Mrs. Dinos' sixth grade class--where we found out that we had the same birthday: November 30, 1967! But our friendship didn't really blossom until late in high school when we started going to concerts together. And then, to seal our fate, we began doing the irreverent A.D.A.M.:C.L.A.Y.T.O.N. fanzine together. Boy, what amazing days those were! Tracy is a good friend that I met through the A.D.A.M. fanzine. Kellie and I saw our first Alarm concert with Tracy, with many more memories to follow! Tracy and Kellie also did the A.L.A.R.M. fanzine together. Well, before this year, the last show Kellie, Tracy and I saw together was The Alarm at Bogart's in Cincinnati way back in 1991. Then I fell into a black hole for seven years. A long drawn out depressing story. Fortunately one day I woke up, and I discovered the Internet. This bit of technology has changed my life more than anyone could possible imagine. Through the Internet, I met my current husband, rediscovered my old buddies Kellie and Tracy and also discovered The Alarm Mailing List. I finally got to meet with some list members at a little pre-show get together before the April 14th Coloursound show in New York City. It was amazing to feel part of something again--for so long I always felt on the outside looking in, so it was great meeting everyone and being accepted into "the family". And I'd run into these great people again on my travels--Carol, Tim, Phil, Josh, Terry, Zant, Leah, Lyn, Michelle, Becky, Rippy, Andy, Rick, Shannon, Lisa, Barney, Chris, Jon, Trace, Scott, Jonna, Donna, Jen, Adrienne, Jay, Ed, Tony, Dennis, Nancy, Jerry, Don.... and everyone else I met on the road. You guys are the greatest!!! And of course, to my other friends that I've chatted with and emailed but haven't met yet--Damian, John, James, Caroline, Andy, Sylvie, Mart, Jess, Simmo, Ben, Celeste, Richard, Willie.... and the list goes on. Here's some pictures of my friends I've met on the road--there's a lot of them, so please wait for them all to load! If anyone else has any pictures to contribute, please let me know--just drop me an email at: webmaster@ecki.com
