A postcard captioned Mountain Farm House, Herman Barber, Prop., Yulan,
NY, postmarked 1907.
(from interview with Walter Metzger) The Mountain
Farm House was built in the late 1800's and owned by Herman Barber who
ran it as a boarding house. Herman had a brother named Will. A woman used
to come up in the summers and eventually married Will. They built a little
house in Barryville. The woman was a good friend of Walter Metzger's mother.
