postcard from private collection
A postcard postmarked 1905 showing the center of town. The large building
on the left at the intersection is now the Eldred Inn. The Eldred Inn
was an A&P in the 1930's, and next to that was a butcher (where the
liquor store is now). The large building in the foreground was a school
and is now Town Hall. The lot of buildings across from the school no longer
exists (there used to be a Royal Scarlet Grocery Store and a dry goods
store), and is now a Peck's Market.
